Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has hailed Midfielder Mason Mount after the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in a pre-season friendly encounter on Friday.
Leandro Damiao’s header ensured Kawasaki defeated the Premier League giants in Yokohama.
Lampard heaped praises on Mount for his brilliant performance against the Japanese League champions.
“Mason’s performance against Kawasaki was really good,” Lampard was quoted by Football London as telling reporters at post-match.
“It was a continuation of how he played for me last year at Derby County and how he’s trained for me since last Friday as he’s not been with us long, but his energy and his quality… Mason’s part of the first-team squad this year and it’s time for him.”
Chelsea will now tackle Barcelona on July 13 in their next pre-season fixture.
